StaffExcel, LLC is
an organization devoted to assisting inspired
leaders to create an extraordinary staff through the selection
and development system. Primary involvement includes: the selection and
development of employees; assessing and establishing effective and efficient
practices and procedures in the personnel department operation; training
personnel to conduct growth and development workshops; growth workshops for
employee groups); consulting services for school and business leaders. StaffExcel, LLC was formed on September 1, 2006 as company dedicated to complement
and continue the work of Ken Cardinal.
David
Brobeck - StaffExcel, LLCDavid
Brobeck began a new adventure on August 1, 2008 when he assumed the duties of superintendent of a rising school district in Northeast Ohio. For the past three years, David has devoted his time to the study and teaching of the Cardinal Interviews. He has a keen interest in ultimately assisting with the transformation of public education in North America to truly meet the needs of students first. A member of the National Speakers Association and NSA Ohio, David started working with Ken Cardinal in 2005, although their relationship began in July, 1975,
when Ken hired David to teach reading and language arts. David has kept
Ken as a lifetime mentor and friend. David taught language arts for
seventeen years before entering school leadership. He has experiences as
an assistant principal, principal, and superintendent. However, the
structured interview used by Ken to hire David in 1975 peaked David’s interest
in the selection process. His formal study of selection began when he was
trained to use the Cardinal Teacher Interview in 1991. His 1998
dissertation was an experimental study of the effect of manipulations on the
Cardinal Building Administrator Interview. The study confirmed the
consistency and validity of the interview instrument. David received
recognition for his work in the classroom and earned honors in coaching.
As a building principal, his building was awarded a National Blue Ribbon of
Excellence Award in 2000. In 2005, the Governor of Ohio recognized him
with a resolution commemorating his lifetime contributions to the cause of
quality education.
Ken
Cardinal - ken cardinal &

Ken
Cardinal formed ken cardinal & associates on January 1, 1983. Ken has taught at the elementary and
secondary levels and has held administrative/supervisory positions at all
levels. He holds permanent Ohio teacher certification, elementary and secondary, and
permanent certification as elementary principal and supervisor, secondary
principal and city superintendent. Retiring from the superintendency in Kent, Ohio on January 1, 1981 provided the opportunity for Ken to share his
experiences with others. This has been done through consulting work since 1981.
Ken began his study of high school and college coaches in 1975, and the
in-depth study other school employee groups since that time. Each study
resulted in structured selection/development interview and related
materials. All materials have been published by and copyrighted to Ken
Cardinal. Cardinal’s work in the use of structured interviewing,
teaching, consulting, and continuing study personnel selection/development has
resulted in the establishment of ken
cardinal & associates.
